Central government employees are getting excited before the announcement to be made by the government over the DA hike in March 2024. Dearness Allowance (DA) for pensioners will be based on the latest Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW).

Previously government hiked the DA for central government government employees in October 2023. After this decision over 48.67 lakh central govt employees benefitted and 67.95 lakh pensioners. There was a four per cent hike in the DA which was 42 per cent to 46 per cent.
