New Delhi: IndiGo on Monday said dense fog and low visibility conditions have significantly disrupted flight operations at Delhi airport and other airports across northern India, leading to delays and selective cancellations through the day.

In a regulatory disclosure filed with stock exchanges, InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, said visibility levels fell below operational minima due to fog, impacting departures and arrivals. The airline said the situation is beyond its control and that operations are being managed in coordination with airport authorities and in line with established safety protocols.
“While operations adjust to the prevailing weather, some flights may experience delays while a few others may be proactively cancelled through the day to prioritise safety and help minimise extended waiting at the airport,” the company said in a press statement issued on December 15.
The airline said it has issued advisories to passengers and is proactively informing customers about changes to flight schedules to reduce inconvenience. Passengers have been advised to check flight status through the airline’s website or mobile application, as knock-on delays are possible due to the weather-related disruption.
IndiGo added that its ground and customer service teams remain deployed at airports to assist passengers and ensure continued support during the disruption, even as weather conditions remain challenging across parts of north India.
