The Delhi government has introduced a new solar energy policy which is titled ‘Solar Policy 2024’. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the press media and revealed the benefits of the Solar Policy 2024 and how Delhi people can get zero electricity bills no matter how much electricity they consume. Also, Delhi can earn by installing these solar panels on their rooftop of houses. Here are complete details about this new transformation in electricity consumption by Delhi govt Aam Admi Party.

Delhi Solar Policy 2024

As per the news, the Delhi government has brought an amendment to the State Solar Policy 2026 which was launched by them after they came into power in 2015. This policy of 2026 resulted in a 1500 MW installed capacity that amazed the government and now it is projected that Delhi will achieve a 4500 MW installation capacity of solar power by 2027.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his government are aiming to implement this Solar Policy 2024 with full full-fledged plan and it will also help to reduce Air pollution in Delhi with a reduction in inflation by decreasing electricity bills. Also, solar power is one of the prominent green energy sources and it may reduce the rising air pollution in the capital. This solar panel scheme will also help industrial and commercial consumers by reducing their bills to 50 percent of the current bill amounts.

In this press conference, the power minister Atishi, and the Vice Chairperson of the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi, Jasmine Shah, were also present at the press conference.

Currently, Delhi people are getting fully subsidized on the electricity consumption under 200 units. While consumers with consumption between 201 units to 400 units are getting a 50 percent subsidy on their bills. But the consumers with above 400 units are not eligible to get any subsidy on their bills. After the implementation of this new Solar Policy 2024, consumers will be able to get zero bills if they install solar panels on the rooftop of their house, no matter how much electricity they will consume.
