On February 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in Rewari, Haryana, for another AIIMS for the people. The government of India allocated around 1650 crore rupees for the AIIMS Rewari.
Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, was also present at the event and congratulated the people of Haryana and Rewari. He said that AIIMS Rewari will not only help south Haryana in healthcare but also a large part of north Rajasthan will also benefit from the AIIMS Rwari.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Chemicals and Fertilisers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, tweeted about the foundation and congratulated the people of Haryana for getting AIIMS. The AIIMS Rewari will be the first AIIMS in the state and will boost healthcare facilities in the state.
According to Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the government of India allocated around a budget of 1650 crore rupees, and the area of AIIMS Rewari will cover more than 210 acres. The AIIMS will have around 750 hospital beds and around 350 beds with specialty blocks.
Further, there will be around 215 beds with super specialties and around 30 beds with Ayush blocks; there will be 100 sets for medical college and 60 seats for nursing college, which will reduce competition in the NEET.
The AIIMS Rewari project is approved under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana scheme, which comes under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As of now, around 22 new AIIMS have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana scheme, and 15 have been approved since 2014, including the Rewari one.
