Amazon is showing interest in buying Swiggy’s Instamart. The company deals in providing quick grocery services to our doorstep. Amazon wants to either have the investment company’s IPO or buy it out in full. Amazon already excelled in delivering goods and services to the customer’s doorstep. It is also interested in grocery delivery. The demand for online purchasing of groceries is increasing every day. Thus, its market is competitive but demanding. According to the sources, Amazon has bigger plans with Instamart. Thus, the deal can go up to $10-12 billion.

Amazon has been interested in quick commerce for a long time. However, it has to consume a lot of resources and effort to successfully set up a fresh quick commerce business. The industry is competitive and requires a lot of planning. Thus, the company is interested in making the existing business bigger by purchasing Instamart. Apart from Amazon, Flipkart also showed interest in the same deal the previous year. However, it failed because of some valuation mismatch.

Swiggy is preparing for its IPO to expand further. The company already filled the DRHP papers through the confidential filing route. Thus, there are not many details available. Swiggy also rolled out a $65 million ESPOs liquidity programme. The quick commerce is expanding to the smaller towns. More people from rural areas are also moving towards quick commerce for small items purchase. It is increasing the market value of such companies.

The confirmations might come after some time. However, there are no details yet for the final deal. Amazon is moving towards further expansion. Swiggy started Instamart in 2020. It was the time of the Covid pandemic when it was difficult to get out of the house. The company launched the initiative to deliver the goods to the consumer’s households.
