A pharma plant in Andhra Pradesh took the lives of 16 people leaving 30 others injured. The explosion took place at Escientia Advanced Sciences Private Limited. It is located in the SEZ (special economic zones) of Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district. The rescue work is still going on. 16 people lost their lives in this unexpected incident. An Explosion At Andhra Pradesh’s Pharma Plant Escientia Took The Lives of 16 People

Escientia is a pharmaceutical plant located in the special economic zone (SEZ) of Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapallu district. The company works closely with the pharma and biotech companies to launch small molecule drugs. The incident happened during the lunch break. Thus, the majority of the workers were already outside the plant. It saved a lot of lives. However, some of the employees were inside the plant during the explosion.

There is an estimation of 16 deaths in the incident where 10 are confirmed. Manager V Sanyasi Naidu (50 years), Laboratory in-charge Rami Reddy (35 years), Chemist N Harika (22 years), production operator Partha Sarathy (23 years), plant helper Y China Rao (25 years), P Rajesekhar (22 years), plant operators K Mohan, Ganesh, H Prashant, and M Narayana Rao lost their lives. The estimates are for six more employees to be stuck under debris. The rescue work is going slow because of the increased amount of smoke coming from the factory.

While 30 injured employees are taken to NTR district hospital in Anakapalli. Several of others are also taking their treatment from hospitals in Visakhapatnam which falls at a distance of 20 km. Andhra Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences for the lives lost along with shock on the incident. These explosions are not happening for the first time. It took place at Vasanth Chemicals a month ago taking the life of a worker. While two had injuries that they survived successfully. This chemical factory was at Atchutapuram SEZ.

Six workers lost their lives in June 2023 after a chemical reactor blast in Sahiti Pharma. Eight fire brigades reached the location immediately. The slab of the first floor collapsed immediately. The possibility is that some of the employees are still under the debris. There are burn injuries to many employees. The research will help out in finding the reason behind the explosion.
