New Delhi: Bharat Forge Ltd has issued a strong denial of a Reuters report that claimed top Indian defence manufacturers held rare meetings in Russia to explore potential joint ventures. In a stock exchange filing on Wednesday, the company said it had “unequivocally” not participated in any such discussions.

The article, published on December 9, suggested that Indian arms makers were in talks with Russian counterparts on prospective collaborations. Bharat Forge said the report was entirely inaccurate. “We unequivocally deny any representation or participation in the meetings referenced in the article. No individual representing Bharat Forge or any Kalyani Group company has travelled to Russia since 2021,” the company clarified.

The Pune-based defence and engineering major urged media outlets and stakeholders to refrain from publishing speculative content based on unverified information, signalling concerns over misinformation impacting its reputation.

Bharat Forge, part of the Kalyani Group, has been expanding its presence in defence manufacturing and export markets, but emphasised that it has had no engagement with Russia in the manner reported.
