New Delhi: InterGlobe Aviation, the parent of India’s largest airline IndiGo, has clarified that its chief executive Pieter Elbers and senior officials have been called by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for a review meeting on December 11, countering reports of a regulatory “meltdown” summons.

In a filing to the National Stock Exchange on Thursday, the airline responded to a media report titled “IndiGo Meltdown: India’s aviation watchdog summons CEO Pieter Elbers, senior officials on Dec 11”, which triggered a surveillance query from the exchange.

IndiGo said the DGCA has asked its leadership team to participate in a scheduled review meeting, without indicating any punitive action. “Mr. Pieter Elbers, CEO, along with other senior officials of the Company have been asked to participate in a review meeting by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on December 11, 2025,” the airline said in its communication to the exchange.

The clarification comes amid heightened regulatory scrutiny of flight operations, crew rostering and on-time performance across airlines, especially during the busy holiday season when passenger volumes peak.

NSE had written to the airline on December 10 seeking an explanation on the media report, which suggested the regulator had “summoned” IndiGo’s top management following operational disrupt ions.
