Mumbai is going to get a new metro line. The metro development authority ‘Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’ (MMRDA) has issued tenders to develop a car shed of around 59.65-hectare for this Metro Line 9. This new metro line will be run between Dahisar to Mira-Bhayander at Uttan. Let’s discuss all the major key points related to this metro line 9 and when this project will be completed completely.
Currently, already operational metro line 7 is running between Andheru East to Dahisar East. This project will develop the site into a full-fledged depot with over 40 stabling lines, a depot and train operation control centre, maintenance yard, and administrative buildings. This project will connect the northward extension of metro line 7 which is currently working between Andheri East to Dahisar East to the metro line of the route Dahiser to Mira-Bhayander at Uttan.
MMRDA brought the proposal in late 2022 for the extension of Mumbai Metro Line 9 which will be working in Bhayander to Uttan. Now discussing the various details related to this project like how much the government spends on it and what is the current status.
