New Delhi: Nippon Paint India has appointed Mark Titus as President – Decorative Business, effective 1 December 2025, replacing Mahesh S. Anand. In this role, Titus will report to Sharad Malhotra, newly appointed Managing Director of the company.

Strategic leadership shift
The leadership realignment comes as part of a broader restructuring at Nippon Paint India following Malhotra’s elevation as MD — the first Indian to hold the position.
With Titus heading the decorative paints division, the company signals a sharpened focus on the domestic decorativecoatings market, seen as a high-growth segment amid rising home renovation demand and increasing urban housing activity.
What Titus brings — and what’s expected
Titus brings over two decades of cross-industry experience, spanning FMCG, electronics, beverages and paints & waterproofing sectors.
At Nippon Paint India, he has already been involved in growing the decorative business, handling marketing, channel expansion and digital engagement.
In his new role, Titus is expected to drive the strategy across product innovation, distribution channels, digital platforms, branding and sustainable practices — leveraging global technologies and market insights to expand the decorative-paints footprint across India.
Commenting on the appointment, Malhotra said: “Mark has been pivotal in shaping the brand’s decorative business trajectory through his strong leadership and ability to translate market insights into impactful growth strategies.” Titus said he feels “privileged” to lead the division at “this defining moment,” citing India’s evolving interiors and refurbishment demand.
What’s next — Opportunities and Outlook
The move comes as decorative paints and coatings — driven by growing home-improvement, real-estate and infrastructure activity — emerge as a key growth vertical in India’s building materials space. Nippon Paint India, under new leadership, is now well-positioned to accelerate expansion, deepen penetration in urban and semi-urban markets, and tap demand for premium, sustainable coatings. Analysts and industry watchers will be watching how effectively Titus converts strategic intent into execution — particularly in product innovation and channel expansion — as companies compete for share in an increasingly competitive paints market.
