The new and increasing cases of COVID-19 in Singapore created panic among people, as proper measures were being taken for the citizens of Singapore in their country and at the Indian airport. Every visitor from Singapore was asked for screening and testing. However, recent sources mention that there will be no screening for the same from now on at the Chennai airport. The authorities have said the test samples have been sent for testing for COVID-19.
Director of Public Health Dr. TS Selvavinayagam says that passengers will not be tested for COVID-19 at Chennai Airport from now on. The incident creates a sense of fear among the citizens about the increase in COVID-19 cases. According to the details, 25,900 cases were detected in Singapore from May 5 to May 11. These COVID-19 cases are said to be mainly FLiRT.
The government has already asked the people of Singapore to wear masks. Elderly people, pregnant women, and children are advised not to visit crowded places. People suffering from heart and lung disease, hypertension, diabetes, or any other chronic conditions must also stay inside their houses. People are a little tense after the news. The virus, like KP. 1 and KP.2, is spreading quickly. The variants together are also called FLiRT.
The samples collected at Tamil Nadu’s airport have been given for testing at the National Institute of Virology, Pune. At the same time, the reports will take some time to present. However, health officials from Singapore and the US have said that the influence of the disease is not major yet. There is nothing to worry about at the moment. The cases are rising at a high speed. However, there are no severe cases like ICU or hospitalization. Some people are recovering on their own. At the same time, the others are recovering with a little medicine of, an anti-viral.
However, even the officials said that there was no need to worry. Still, one must follow the measures. Thus, those samples will soon clarify whether the screening at the airport will continue or stop afterward. The important thing to remember is that self-care is much better. Thus, one should take precautions like washing one’s hands before and after food and maintaining basic hygiene. Apart from that, distancing oneself from public positions is also recommended. Precaution is better than cure.
