Begusarai becomes the World’s Most Polluted City, Delhi is 6th Rank in List

In the year 2023, 9 out of the top 10 polluted cities in the world were in India. According to the World Air Quality Report which is released by the Swiss organization IQAir, Bihar’s Begusarai is the most polluted city in the world. Pakistan’s Lahore was also on the list and the only city in Pakistan which came under this list. Here we will discuss more about the report and the top most polluted cities.

As per the details, Begusarai reported PM2.5 of 118.9 micrograms per cubic metre in 2023 and Guwahati at 105.4. There are more cities in the list like Delhi, Siwan, Goshaingaon, Katihar, Mullanpur, Saharsa, and New Delhi.

During the year 2023, the National capital Delhi was 6th under the most polluted cities list with an average PM2.5 of 77.4. In this report, India came out as the third most polluted country in the world out of 134 countries. The air quality in India is getting worse which is a concern and we have to take this issue seriously. On the other hand, in the year 2022, India was at eighth ranking in the same list with a PM2.5 level of 53.3.
